PARADE AGREEMENT AND INJURY DISCLAIMER

I/We do hereby agree by all terms set forth in the Mahomet Music Festival’s Parade Rules & Regulations and will comply. I/We understand that there are inherent risks involved in participating in the parade, including but not limited to those associated with weather conditions, equipment & other participants. I/We agree to fully assume any and all risks and responsibilities associated with participation in the parade. I/We further agree to waive any and all claims that I/We have against the Mahomet Music Festival, Village of Mahomet, its officers, supervisors, employees, agents and volunteers arising out of any personal injury or property damage that is incurred during the participation in the parade. In addition, I/We agree to indemnify the Mahomet Music Festival, Village of Mahomet, its officers, supervisors, employees, agents and volunteers from and against any liability or loss, damage, claims, expenses and costs, including without limitation attorneys’ fees, related to any claim that may be filed concerning, on behalf of, or for myself or any other person or entity either now or in the future, that results from or is connected in any way with participation in the parade.


This agreement shall be considered effective as of the date and time filed with the Mahomet Music Festival and shall continue to be enforced until participant(s) is released in accordance with the operation rules.

2025 Festival Parade Rules

and Regulations

Saturday, August 23rd (Line-up starts 7:30am | Parade starts at 9:00 a.m.


Due to the popularity of the MMF Parade, space is limited due to the length of the parade route. Therefore, we must enforce pre-registration and limited registration.


  • ENTRY GUIDELINES: Each participating business/organization will be allowed up to two entries at no cost. Each additional unit entry (i.e. 3+ company vehicles) will incur participation of $20/additional entry. No entry will be granted to a business/ organization that has not pre-registered on the day of the parade.


  • PARADE LINE-UP: Line-up for the event will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 23rd. All participants are required to check in no later than 8:50 a.m. Any participant arriving after 8:50 a.m. will not be allowed to join the parade. The line-up will be staged in the Lincoln Trail School/Bus Barn Area. Participants must check in at the corner of E. State Street & Division Street prior to entering the lot. Participants will be directed from that point to their staging position within the lot. Any vehicle(s) not used in the parade WILL NOT BE PERMITTED in the lot. We recommend participants drop-off/unload at the junior high/high school and proceed to the staging lot by foot, bike or small vehicle that will be in the actual parade.


  • PARADE ROUTE: The parade will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. SHARP! The route will proceed as follows: South on Division Street, East on Union, North on Elm, North-West on Franklin, and West on E. State Street. Participants will end up back at the staging lot and must stay there until the street has been opened and is clear for regular traffic.


  • CHARACTER OF ENTRIES: MMF Management reserves the right to approve the character of all entries and to prohibit any display that, because of noise or other objectionable features, detracts from the general character of the parade.


  • PROHIBITED ITEMS/ENTRIES: Switchblade knives, stilettos, pinpoint laser lights, pepper spray, smoke bombs, stun guns, butterfly knives and any item that resembles or bears the image of the Confederate Battle Flag are prohibited. These items will be confiscated, and your entry may be refused. Among the items prohibited are items that clearly represent racist ideology, including but not limited to Ku Klux Klan items, items reproduced since World War IIdenoting swastikas. MMF Management herby prohibits the sale or giveaway of any merchandise along the parade route resembling the aforementioned items. MMF Management has the sole discretion to prohibit participants from selling or displaying items that may be considered offensive, obscene, or could pose a public health or safety concern.


  • CANDY/PROMO ITEMS: For the safety of viewers and the Village Ordinance, participants are encouraged to refrain from throwing candy or other items from their entry vehicle. MMF Management encourages entries to have walkers alongside entry to distribute candy and/or other promotional items by hand.


  • CLEAN UP: Entries that may cause a mess (ie. Horses/dogs/etc.), are responsible for IMMEDIATE clean up and must provide support personnel to assist with clean up along the parade route.


  • VEHICLE MAINTENANCE: All vehicles should be checked thoroughly for gas, water, oil, etc., prior to the start of the parade. Should entry experience a breakdown during the parade, the entry will be required to be moved to the side of the road, allowing the parade to continue to pass the entry.


  • SPEED OF PARADE: This is a controlled, forward-motion parade. If your entry experiences problems during the parade and/or there are more than 2 car lengths between you and the entry in front of you, you will be asked by a parade representative to exit the parade. Large gaps in the parade will NOT be tolerated.

  • EMERGENCY VEHICLES: Participants should be aware that it is possible that an emergency vehicle participating in the parade may need to leave the parade suddenly in the event of an emergency. Should this occur, participants are asked to make an effort to close the gap from the emergency vehicle’s exit.


  • PARTICIPANT DROP-OFFS: There will be no drop-off of participants in the staging area, only vehicles participating in the parade are allowed to be in the lot. Entries are encouraged to inform their participants (i.e. parents of minors in the parade) to park at the middle school and to walk their participants to the Lincoln Trails lot.


IMPORTANT: This page must be copied and distributed to all participants in your entry. Failure to comply with the Rules & Regulations may result in dismissal from parade participation.
